The only problem with her is that it seems like she doesn’t care that she ruins someone’s life as long as she saves it. Then when she is faced with the same situation she cares about the person too much to do that. Her fiancé is not her family technically speaking.
Well I agree that she believed she couldn’t do anything else. Something like this was visited in an earlier episode when Black Jack amputated a gymnast’s arm, but he didn’t just leave it like that. He and the kid’s friend helped him accept it and find a new dream. If they hadn’t done that the kid might’ve just killed himself, which would have made saving his life seem pointless.

True but at least be a little kinder when presenting the bad news. I mean geeze…If my kid was in an accident like that and the doctor not only amputated his leg but was as cold as she was with presenting the news I would have issues NOT resenting her.
Yes, it’s bad to have your dream shattered, but suppose everything in that knee was so damaged that she just couldn’t do anything. Should she have done nothing? As far as she knew, she saved his life. BJ could perhaps have done it, but most doctors don’t have the skills to do everything he can do.

Honestly ten minute in and I already hate Konomi. I mean seriously she could have replaced the knee-joint instead she ruined that person’s life regardless if he’s alive or not sometimes if someone’s dream is shattered…It’s as bad as if you killed them yourself.
