I live in London, and there are PUA’s here who never go into relationships, they just get numbers, have sex, rinse lather repeat, and they’re having a fun time doing it.

Nah, casual sex is great, but trying to get a different partner every night is way too far. But thats just my opinion, because i’m not that bothered about 1 night stands, but i’ve never met a girl that made me want a relationship either, so i prefer to have fuck buddy thing going on. Anyways, there are things in the game that seem a little extreme, like using hypnotism, or magic tricks, i just think its a little much. But the game is great, as long as, like most things, its played in moderation!

I agree. To dedicate your life to being a PUA and 24/7 game study and sarging, while fun in success i’m sure, is ultimately a bit of a pathetic lifestyle. But to intergrate the lessons in the game, into your attitude and personality, and using the knowladge to better yourself and gain better social understanding and proficiency, then thats cool, and in fact, its what im trying to do. I just dont want to be an AFC looking at PUA forums all the time, letting it dominate my life (and its tempting.)

Too many men take the whole “ignoring” thing too literal and look like idiots doing so. The point is to show “indifference” so that the woman will try and prove to the man that she’s worth it. This is basic stuff that you learn (and see) through everyday social situations, but since most PUA fans are generally people who are ex-anti-socials, they never learned it.
Nothing wrong with giving some attention to a girl you’re attracted to.
The problem I’ve noticed with PUA fanatics is that they over-analyze everything and think every social situation with women is a pick up when it’s not. They become robotic and lose their own natural charisma within and become a clone of other people. It is possible to take tidbits and create your own unique way of picking up women, but many people don’t know how to do that.
Which is why if you DO happen to stumble across these books – it’s best to take many of these “rules” half-heartedly. I think some of the tips these guys offer can be used in all sorts of social situations, not just dating. But it’s the ones that take everything as gospel and become robotic that are hopeless.
I hear you. But i think, to be the best PUA you need to dedicate a serious portion of time to the game, thus, it dominates your life. Like Mystery says, you create your own reality, but in turn, you loose actual reality. Theres nothing wrong with having game, but it shouldn’t take over your life, like it has to many. It should be used as only as part of a balanced lifestyle (even Neil Strauss admitted letting the game take over, and only getting pleasure from being a PUA, is a losers lifestyle).
This is a good interview & I think its sums up what is best about Neil’s book, The Game which I would recommend. His book does not cover online dating and in today’s world for guys looking to get better at dating this is very important. If you do online dating correctly you should be able to get a couple of dates a week. And from these dates you can learn to get better at dating. This is process which I draw out in my book.

Meh, going to have to disagree with that last part. Are there those who seek pickup only to gain sexual prowess? Sure, but there is more to pickup than what was presented in “The Game”. Why does someone trying to fix an aspect of their life that is deficient a loser? I would argue doing nothing makes one a loser, and as for the relationship part pickup is meant to address ATTRACTING girls which is ultimately the biggest stumbling block for alot of guys. Like anything pickup is what you make it.

In order to make them feel that, you need to come across as being an alpha male (provider, protector and a leader).
I read a program (the one on “the alpha mindset {dot} com”) and one of the many things it opened my eyes too is the fact that I needed to get over my shyness and to stop being so “nice”, available and accommodating to the girls I was after because women associate that shit with weakness.

Women like Jessica are so used to men falling at their feet. The second a decent looking guy says “Nice genes, but what else you got?”, they have no power and seek to justify themselves. Such a brilliant method.

EXACTLY RIGHT. It’s cheating. and lying about who you really are. it’s only good for sex, because it’s only changing how you “pick-up” women. It doesn’t change your personality at all. But it makes women think you are a different guy for long enough so you can get into their pants. And I’ve done that last part plenty of times. Without this book or anything, but I’m saying I’ve been able to fake being really cool long enough to get laid. and it was a waste of my time and effort. I hate being fake
I feel sorry for any guys who waste time on shit like this. Why do you care so much about women? Sex isn’t all that great. It’s at best, 10 seconds of actual pleasure, 5 minutes or more (the more time, the worse off, IMO) to achieve that pleasure, and hours or days to wait to even start to achieve that 10 seconds.
Women are boring and stupid, self entitled cunts, for the most part. Why would you devote this much time to them? Name one female invention.
haha. I have never read a book in my entire life.. When I went to jail for 2 months for something really stupid, I picked up a new hobby… And this was the book that got me into reading.
