If I had to do it all over again, I would push for the immediate dissolution of Self-Realization Fellowship in the world and promote instead the actual true teachings of Lahiri Mahasaya and the true Kriya Yoga. The difference in philosophy and practice is like night and day. If you are a follower of SRF, I urge you to please look into the actual teachings of Kriya Yoga and the totally misleading, deceptive seduction that is SRF. SRF is according to Lahiri Mahasaya a totally impossible vessel for bringing about true enlightenment and in fact is a very clever deception started by a charlatan and perpetuated by a very clever propaganda machine, which is SRF. If you are a monk, nun, board member, lawyer for SRF, please, in the name of the truth, look into the true Kriya Yoga. Do not indulge in more lawsuits, more censoring. Babaji did not want renunciates, but householders in the Kriya path. He also had a whole different set of techniques. Well, you are not alone. I spoke with many ex-monks either at parties, over lunch or other get-togethers and I got the real reason that so many leave. I was in youth camp back in 1979-81, so that will tell you how long I was in SRF 🙂 I’ll email you. I am writing a book, which is in draft stage which explains what the real kriya is and why SRF members have so many problems. Lahiri forsaw all these issues 150 years ago which is why he forbid the creation of organizations.
I’ve been a member of SRF since 1996. Lived as a lay member in the ashram for three years. I would be very interested in hearing more of what you say with an open mind. Please publish the next videos in the series. For the “record” I’ve had very good results from the SRF path. Slow. But I’ve hit some real benchmarks. Still, there’s many things about the organization that I have never been able to “come to terms with.” I would love to speak to you via phone or email sometime.
Only a small fraction of people stay with SRF and of those that do, they are depressed and alone, outcasted with horrible self-esteem. 80% of the monks leave and the ones that stay, only a few ever talk of having any spiritual results. I have been an insider in SRF a d so I know the truth. Yogananda is a charlatan who was hounded by disembodied spirits by his own admission. William the Conqueror was a brutal murderer.
You are following an illusion, a false path of active prana. You need to read Purana Purusha. Emotional devotion has nothing to do with finding God. It is an impediment. The proof is in the pudding. This attitude which you espouse is why there are not Self-Realized beings within SRF.
My bad behavior? I was a victim of the SRF cult along with a lot of other people. SRF is an organization with the only interest being to survive and take money. They have marketed themselves as a distributor of the Kriya Yoga technique and created a perfect image of a charlatan. I am trying to help deluded people like yourself wake up and stop people from wasting their lives. SRF is failing and will fall as the truth comes out. They are imposters.

Do you think that those saints that did not practice Kriya did not love God?You have to practice Kriya with love and devotion,not only tecnically…and besides, love God and surrender to Him ..only in this way practicing Kriya is loving God.You seems to be so “cold”,and,please,let me say,mischievous too.You are betraying yourself and others,and SRF and Paramahansa Yogananda and the Paramagurus only for your frustration or for your bad intentions!
You are very fortunate to come across this video. You have a chance to learn the true path, which is so rare. I have taken the time out of my Kriya practice to help you out. Most would not do that. If you love God, you would practice the truth path of Lahiri Mahasaya and not allow yourself to be deceived by a huxter, a charlatan and a deceiver. As Kabir said, the true path is rarely found. Again love of God is practice of Kriya and service to others. That is all.
It takes at least 20 years of disappointment to find out the path of SRF is false and for this reason it is the most dangerous path. You have not met with ex-monks and seen the way SRF had destroyed them leaving them with nothing. Had they known that a few sessions of the actual Kriya of Lahiri Mahasaya would bring them into the breathless state, they might not be cursing the whole thing as an illusion. 90% of the planet claims to love God, but this does not give them liberation.
Not the ones I know. They are not happy. My two closest friends who spent years performing kriya, in fact committed suicide, citing failure to obtain results with Kriya. After many years, the only results I achieved was a visit by the Holy Ghost who told me the path was false. 80% of the monks leave the SRF path.
I would suggest reading Purana Purusha to find out how the path truly is.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, I have researched a long time. I suppose I am more knowledgeable than anyone else on the planet in regards to Kriya Yoga and SRF. I have seen no proof that Yogananda was sent by Babaji nor did he have Babaji’s consent at all. In fact he continually broke many of Babaji’s commands again. Yogananda was nothing more than a charlatan. That is the truth and many people suffered.
About SRF members that should look for the real kriya yoga,I’m sure they are spiritually happy enough through the Kriya they are practicing that they have no time nor the desire to look for something else ;-)….and perhaps you are only a theoric and a curiousity seaker otherwise you would appreciate SRF and you would have gone very far practicing the teaching as given by Paramahansa. Yogananda..meditate my dear,meditate..and above all love God,much more than the Tecniques and Theories!
