Well. I think the point of the video is that propaganda is used to promote things..ie. war etc. As far as smoking goes, people can do what they want.
So what? People do all sorts of things that aren’t good for them. I think all the processed “food” is to blame for a lot of illness. It’s not even food anymore. But I don’t agree what this guy did. We’re in 2 wars now because of people like him!
This is an important video. You should give it a more descriptive title so people will watch it. The title “Torches” doesn’t do the subject matter justice. I’m not going to favorite without a better title.
Why don’t you call it something like “Bernays Explains How He Got American Women To Smoke”
or
“Bernays Explains How He Sold American Women On Smoking”
or
“How Bernays Duped American Women Into Smoking”
I know for a fact that chemical agents are added to the tobacco to addict the smoker to tobacco. Plus 1200,00 additional agents that make tobacco a second hand hazard. Remove all additives to tobacco, then watch how easy it is to quit smoking. You would see more successful non smoking attempts. Try to find a brand of cigarette that is 100% additive free tobacco product.

You’re right, however, tobacco co.’s are spending millions to push their poison onto society and as far as I’m concerned it’s blood money that they’re reaping from it. I know that no one holds a gun to a smokers head, but lets face the fact that these poison peddlers are benefiting from the induced habits of using their product.
I say induced, because they’ve manipulated nicotine levels and have admitted to adding other addictive chemicals to their products.

Obviously you didn’t watch this here video where Mr.Bernays said he,at the request of Big Tobacco, “Duped” women (half the population) into taking up smoking! Tobacco companies continued to “Dupe” people into smoking by endlessly promoting and “Glamorizing” their Health Destroying “Cancer Sticks”!!!
