  1. I would like to point out that the Church here in America has experienced some loss, even though we have new people coming in all the time. But the Church in Africa and other places where there is so much danger and persecution–in those places the Church is thriving, blooming and booming! And those countries are sending missionaries to us here in the states! Thanks be to God! 🙂

  2. I’m so happy to see so many new vocations to the Nashville Dominicans! A dear friend of mine used to go up there and stay during the summer. I’m looking forward to visiting with them sometime this year. God bless these wonderful, joyful sisters! May He bless them with many more vocations in the years to come! 🙂

  5. AH, my mistake. It was flagged as spam.

    1) how do you know your memory of what was happening as you died at the age of 4 is reliable?

    2) what do you think happens to a brain as it struggles against death?

    3) do you think the perceptions of a malfunctioning brain as it dies would be reliable and accurate considering that dying brain is what is responsible for cataloging the event?

    4) isn’t it possible (and more likely) that what you experienced wasn’t actually real?

  6. and your origional reply does not show below the “all comments” box either. As I said, it was removed. I assumed by you.

  7. If you’ll look below the “all comments” box, you’ll see my posting. My take on the talking snake story is different from that of the mainstream. Not that it really matters, the story is symbolic, not a literal truth.

  8. and to go back to your first comment, what exactly was this personal experience which lead you to believe there is a “spiritual realm”? What and where is this realm and how can others verify its existence?

  9. I would read your original reply but it has been removed.

These “higher powers” and “forces” you seem to be referring to are not supernatural entities or otherworldly forces. They are simply human behaviors we categorize according to certain consequences.

And in that story, the serpent didn’t impart the knowledge of good and evil….eating the fruit did.

  10. I’ll ask you to please read my original reply to you below. As for a Deity, There are Higher Powers, and there are forces of darkness. If you read The Talking Snake story in The Bible, (Genesis), you’ll see that the serpent imparted “the knowledge of GOOD and evil” to Eve. GOOD and evil…..That knowledge of what is “good” was imparted by the serpent, not by “God”.

  11. I’m far from an atheist. There’s a Spiritual realm; I know that from experience.
I died when I was about 4 years old, and I was brought back to life. Despite my young age, I clearly remember my Spirit leaving my body and ascending.
I reject the “god” that man has created in his own image and likeness. There are, without question or doubt, Higher Powers, but those Higher Powers don’t exist in humanoid forms or persona; they’re nothing like the “god” humans perceive through their five senses.

  12. If you don’t believe in a deity you are, by definition, a non theist….an atheist.

Is there a deity you believe in?

and being atheist says absolutely nothing about a “spiritual realm” or your beliefs about such. It simply addresses the question of wether or not you believe in a deity.

  13. These sisters are awesome, I wish more young people could see that happiness is not found in sin but in the life these sisters live. Bless these wonderful nuns!!! 🙂

  14. I renounced Christianity, but I’m far from being an atheist. I patently reject the “god” that man has created in his own image and likeness. The Bible contains some truths, but it is a largely fictional tome as well. Organized religion is merely the means by which the empowered few reign and rule over the masses.
I do know from personal experience that there is a Spiritual realm.

  15. “Fundamentally, god is an invention of the human being, respectively, of the human brain, whereby, in the human being, over millions of years, the imaginary divinity has been inherited in a form of schizophrenic, epileptic delusion and has established itself in the temporal lobes as well as in the parietal lobes. Religious experiences which arise thereby constitute forms of schizophrenic delusion and are the result of a genetically inherited religious belief. Theyfly.com

  16. I am an atheist. And I may reject what these girls are doing. Yet, I am forced to give them a credit; they take their religious studies with deep seriousness. The apparent phony “worshipping” I see in so many fundies’ megachurches [lights, people dancing and a evangelist reverend dressed in a phony business suit attacking “liberals”] have given me a very negative opinion of so many phony “christians”.
